NO to pork on Holy Week

Like what i've post on my other blog. About  one of my vow for Holy week is no to pork on Good Friday. Becasue Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence, meaning this is the day of simplicity, a day that unites with the poor and hungry. No meat, alcohol or any dairy goods. But of course if you do have kids at home they need to eat on a proper manner and on time. Good thing my daugther loves to eat fish, whether its fried or not. So i decided to cook Ginataang Tilapia.

Serve:  2-4 person
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes



What you need:


1 Kilo of Big Fried Tilapia, cut into half
1 cloves of Onion and 5 pcs of garlic ( chopped)
2 tbsp of oil
1 Tali of String beans ( 2 inch cut )
4 pcs of Siling Pang sigang
3 tbsp of Bagoong Alamang. not cooked yet.
1 1/2 cup of coconut oil
1/2 cup of water
Salt and Pepper

Direction:

  • On a frying pan put oil, onion and garlic.
  • Add string bean and saute it for 3 mins.
  • Then you can add Bagoong and saute it a bit then put theTilapia and add water. Simmer for 5 min.
  • Then pour the coconut milk together with the siling pang sigang and simmer until you see that the coconut milk releases its oil and add salt and pepper.
